Hands in the soil

The Artist

Ceramic artist Coralie Huckel loves beautiful things, so it was only natural that she fell under the spell of a historic house in the city of Waterloo.

She set up her studio-boutique in the heart of the town of Waterloo and its gardens have become one of her sources of inspiration.

Coralie turns everyday objects, but also ornamental pieces, with a preference for Canadian clay. The colors created, ochre, blue, emerald, turquoise and the subtle contrasts between black and white, testify to the know-how of the designer while revealing a great delicacy.

The purity of the lines, whether of a vase or a teapot, and the attention to detail make each piece unique.

It is with her partner that the ceramist explores the world of glazes and glazes; each glaze or glaze must be adapted to the clay used, be it earthenware, stoneware or porcelain. Each glaze recipe is tested and adapted to the fired clay; many trials are sometimes necessary to obtain the desired texture and color.

All glazes are lead-free and safe for food use.

Coralie will be delighted to welcome you to her store to discover how using her cups or bowls can make your everyday experience richer and tastier.
